Paper cone manufacturing plant, High speed automatic

K U Sodalamuthu and Co, one of the largest manufacturer of paper conversion machinery, has launched a high-speed automatic paper cone manufacturing plant, the first of its kind in India. Paper cone is a vital consumable for the textile spinning mills for yarn winding. Presently there are hundreds of small-scale units engaged in production of paper cones mostly by semi-automatic model machines employing a large number of workers. The manual intermediary processes in semi-automatic models resulted in inconsistency in quality and output. The fully automatic high-speed paper cone manufacturing plant is designed to deliver a peak output of 55 cones per minute and can function with millboard and starch glue raw materials too. This machine is fitted with a unique gripper winding technology and the company has applied for a patent for this design. The semi-automatic model machine requires as much as 14 workers per shift whereas this latest automatic production line requires two operators only. The plant includes an on-line conveyorised drier to dry the wet cones automatically and this facilitates uninterrupted production even during rainy season. The machine is versatile to produce different sizes of paper cones like 5º 57’, 4º 20’ and 3º 30’ with quick changeover of tooling. The machine is also fitted with an on-line printer to print yarn identification colour coded designs on the top and bottom of paper cones. The company is an ISO 9001 certified organisation exporting paper conversion machines to more than 30 countries across the globe.
