Contact heating system (CH) offers distinct advantages like: controlled temperature of the film between 130 and 160? C; uniform heating, uniform forming; eliminates film distortion; superior blister quality at all speeds; lower temperature forming improves film barrier properties; improved GMP conditions; operational ease; and, energy conservation. Packaging design incorporates the edge to edge cutting system which results in further savings. It maximises effective utilisation of packaging material by reducing trimwaste to below 6%. With the combination pack the advantages are: increased output, reduction in cost of packaging material consumption, and reduction of labour in down the line handling of finished blisters.
