Special & Custom Mica Band Heaters

Special and custom mica band heaters from Heatsun Electrical come with several unmatched features. These include: widely used to heat the moulds, dies, nozzles and especially to heat the cylinders (barrels) on all types of plastic processing machinery; mica heaters are the most economical, due to their best heat transfer capability, faster heating up and cooling down is possible; maximum watt density = 25 watts/square inches; low mass heaters give the best controllability – the lower the thermal mass, lesser time required to deliver the heat to the object to be heated; flexible one or two-piece design makes installation faster and easier; and flexible construction also allows the heater to be opened to the full diameter of the cylinder. Applications: plastic processing machineries, extruders, injection and blow moulding, co-extrusion blown film mono layer and multi layer film plants. The selection of a heater depends on parameters like inside dia and width of the heaters, construction type, wattage and voltage, type of terminal, and drawing where special type of holes or cut-out required. Heatsun special and custom mica band heaters are made of nickel chrome resistance ribbon precisely wound on specially selected mica or micanite sheet. These are then insulated and covered by meta-sheathing and rolled to the required shape.
