Solar Air Heaters

ATR Solar (India) is one of the leading renewable energy based companies, a group of well-experienced, dynamic and active young engineers. The ultimate aim of the company is exploration of potential of renewable energy sources mainly on solar thermal energy, throughout India as well as the globe to make the world greener. Solar Air Heater is a device to produce hot air for any industrial or farmer level drying applications by using freely available sunlight, without using any conventional fuels like electricity, diesel, LPG, firewood, coal, etc. But it could be coupled with an existing conventional drying system like tray drier, tunnel drier, conveyor drier, FBD drier and bin drier operated by conventional fuels to save fuel consumption. Basic components: solar panel, air blowers and insulated hot air ducts. The south facing roof of the factory could be used as a base for the solar panel. By using existing roof structure, solar base will be fitted above the roof. Above the base solar panel will be constructed. Specifications: capacity – 25 m² to 1000 m²; energy output – 10,000 Kcal/hr to 4,10,000 Kcal/hr; temperature – 40 degree C to 100 degree C; models – aluminium absorber and copper absorber; savings – 7 ltr to 300 ltrs of diesel/day (8 hr); life – more than 20 years; and space required – 25 m² to 1000 m² of south facing factory roof. Advantages: coupled with the existing roof, bottom of the solar roof could be used as a processing area and drying area; flexibility to combine with the existing conventional drying system; possible to control the required temperature; non-corrosive material – longer system life cycle; no moving parts except blower and damper controllers; lowest cost, pay-back period is shorter; and system life more than 20 years without any additional maintenance.
