In-Line Induction Wire Preheater

Puretronics introduces inline induction wire preheater. It is used to heat the wire prior to extrusion coating, processing etc, in cable and wire industries. This preheater improves the adhesion (coating) of insulating material on the conductor, ensures even plastic flow on the conductor as the temperature of the conductor remains same throughout the run and the heat flow is even throughout the wire to assure that no cold patches occur at any line speed, avoiding wastage of raw material, and giving high quality end product and higher production speed. It works on the electrical inductive-resistance heating principle and assures no current flows to other wire-line equipment. The heat on the wire is applied evenly at all the operating speeds regardless of wire diameter. A solid-state thyristorised control with line speed tachogenerator feedback provides correct secondary voltage as per the desired setting. It also eliminates wire burn-out during stoppage. Large voltmeter, ammeter, Power On, Heating On indications are provided with auto/ manual selection and % heatset potentiometer for easy operation and quicker setting. The current limit circuit protects the preheater coil from overloading. The entire unit is selfcontained, powder coated with glass window cabinet and does not require any foundation footing.
