The concept of dual drive furnace operation was derived to fully utilise the maximum demand of incoming power by feeding it between furnaces under load matched condition. The dual drive of power as demanded during furnace operation is done by two different low power systems (LPS) of competent design to load match with selected furnace. Dual drive systems are applicable for all combinations of LPS systems with power control from 0% to 100% on automatic power regulator mode. The load matched furnace operation ensures quality products, optimum productivity and energy efficient performance during melting, superheating and holding the temperature. Also it optimises the productivity in kg per kVA of connected incoming power. It shares the drawn power from the mains automatically to feed between the furnaces in operation as selected.
