Desiccant Dryer, No Loss Split Flow Type


Fine Air offers a no loss split flow type Desiccant Dryer. The wet air entering the dryer first comes in contact with the polymer-element of the pre-filter, hence solid impurities up to 5 microns and water droplets are effectively removed. Now, saturated wet air (free of contaminants) enters the distribution box, which splits the air stream and diverts it partly to the heater for regeneration. The air will be heated to 180ºC in heater. The hot air from the heater enters the adsorbent through four-way valve. The hot regeneration air will carry with it the moisture, which was adsorbed during adsorption. The moisture laden air will enter the reactivation air cooler, where the regeneration air will be cooled to 40ºC. Then the air will pass through moisture separator where the moisture from regeneration air will be removed. The regeneration air will mix with balance incoming air in the distribution box. Hence in this system there is no loss. Now the total air will be adsorbed through the four-way valve. While passing through the adsorbent the air will come in contact with desiccant and the moisture will be adsorbed on the surface of desiccant. The dry air coming out from adsorbent, through four-way valve will pass through after filters, which like a pre-filter has polymer elements that prevent the desiccant dust carry over into the system. The change over of the adsorbed tower is accomplished by a linkage mechanism connecting the two four-way valves and a double acting pneumatic cylinder, which actuates this linkage. The timing of operation of the cylinder is controlled by a four-way, five-port double solenoid valve, which is first passed through filter and oil lubricator before entering the pneumatic cylinder. The air used for this purpose is dry air and is trapped from the outlet of after filter. Two limit switches control the travel of the linkage mechanism.
