Oil fired package boilers from Coimbatore-based Jaya Boilers are manufactured in a wide range from 400 to 5000 kgs per hour with standard working pressures of 10.5 kg/cm2, 14 kg/cm2 and 17.5 kg/cm2. These boilers are of Class I welded construction and are made in accordance with IBR/ISO standards. Non- destructive tests such as radiography, stress relieving and final hydraulic testing are carried out on all boilers. These boilers are suitable for fuels such as furnace oil, LSHS and LDO and are of a three pass wet back design. The combustion chamber and the arrangement of tubes are so engineered that the heat transfer is to the maximum, avoiding radiation losses. The boilers are designed to give the maximum delivery of steam to meet any load conditions. Combustion efficiency of 86?2 per cent is obtained based on the calorific value of furnace oil, which is 10,250 kcal/kg. Standard accessories such as main steam stop valve, auxiliary steam stop valve, safety valve, feed check valves, blow down valve, fusible plug, and two sets of water level gauges are provided with the boiler. Shell of these boilers is insulated with fibreglass mattresses of suitable thickness, covered with MS sheets, to avoid radiation.
