RSV Industries Pvt Ltd offers a range of Torque Limiters. A torque limiter is an automatic device that protects mechanical equipment, or its work, from damage by mechanical overload. A torque limiter may limit the torque by slipping (as in a friction plate slip-clutch), or uncouple the load entirely (as in a shear pin). The action of a torque limiter is especially useful to limit any damage due to crash stops and jams. Torque limiters may be packaged as a shaft coupling or as a hub for sprocket or sheave. A torque limiting device is also known as an overload clutch. There are various types of torque limiters: Friction torque limiter - simple and inexpensive, works by springs pressing friction material onto a plate wheel; EDF - low cost ball type limiter with plate wheel, synchronises input and output, maintenance free, and allows an electrical signal of overload; Ball and roller - sensitive and allow an electrical signal on overload, achieves higher torque and synchronises input to output, comprehensive mounting options; Backlash free - available in ball designs, can connect to the shaft with locking bushes achieving a total absence of backlash; Pneumatic - allow remote adjustment of the release torque and multi-level torque limiting, synchronise input to output and can fully disengage the drive; and DSA axial - axial force limiters can be used to protect from linear overloads, for example on gearbox torque arms. They work in both tension and compression and can be supplied in customised assemblies.
