R K Engineering Product Services offers Linear Motion Shafts. These have high surface hardness, exceptional straightness and surface finish which are the basic needs for linear ball bushings. The above-mentioned qualities of shafts incredibly reduce friction and wear, enhancing shaft and machine life. A wide variety of custom designed shafts can be delivered, including tapped holes, inch sizes, special machining and keyways along the length or at the ends of the shaft. Shafts are hard chrome plated ensuring maximum safety against corrosion. This is a standard feature available from stock. LM-shaft specifications: main material – CF 53; heat treatment – high frequency induction hardening; hardness – HRc 58-62; surface roughness – polished, Ra<=0.8µ; shaft straightness – within 50µ per 300 mm; tolerance – g6/h6; and corrosion protection – hard chrome plating.
