Premium Energy Transmission offer Worm Speed Reducers, AM Series. These adaptable speed reducers are of substantial construction, combining rigidity with strength as well as combining the features of conventional 'O', and 'V' types worm gearboxes in a single unit with hollow input and hollow output. These are available in both horizontal and vertical types and the ratings at 1500 RPM. They are supplied with built-in motor flange adaptors thereby eliminating the needs for input and output couplings. The hollow worm is of high quality case hardened steel, accurately generated, ground and super finished. The worm wheel comprises of a centrifugally cast phosphor bronze rim of substantial section welded to a rigid centre, which constitutes the hollow output shaft. Hollow shafts are located on dual purpose bearings of ample capacity and having a substantial margin on output shaft for accommodating overhung loads. Lubrication by 'splash' is positive at all speeds, in either direction of rotation and apart from an occasional oil check, no attention is necessary in service.
