Worm Reduction Gear Units

Comet Industries offers Power Drive range of Worm Reduction Gear Units. These are manufactured in different sizes and ratios in adoptable type as well fix foot-mounting type. These are available in various sizes ranging from 28 mm to 203.2 mm with a choice of ratios from 5:1 to 70:1 in single stage. The company also manufactures double reduction gearboxes in ratios from 100:1 to 4900:1. The gear housing is made of close grain top quality cast iron liberally designed to store adequate quantity of oil so as to achieve higher thermal ratings. The housing is totally dust proof and oil tight. Worm and worm shaft is of single piece accurately made out of high grade alloy steel and is highly polished. The worm wheel is made of cast phosphor bronze, rim shrunk and screwed on central cast iron boss. Teeth are accurately hobbed by generating process. To facilitate interchangability, each worm wheel is inspected to match the masterpiece. Tape roller bearings are used in worm and worm wheel shaft with ample capacity to take normal and thrust loads. Superior quality oil seals are used. Each gear unit is guaranteed for one year against manufacturing defects.
