Worm Gear Units, Adaptable

Kala Gears offers adaptable (universal) worm reduction gear units. These fulfill the wide variety of requirements of various industries. The gear units are manufactured in six different sizes, that is 28.5 to 85 mm centres, each with 13 ratios from 5:1 to 70:1 and input drives as much as 10 HP giving a wide choice of output speeds and torques. By providing three different types of feet, the units can be positioned in various manners, no matter how complex the requirement of mounting is. The units conform to BS-721 and IS-3734. The housing and covers are made of graded cast iron. Worm shafts of alloy steel suitably heat treated and ground and mating worm wheels of phosphorous bronze duly centrifugally cast and machined and hobbed to close tolerances. High quality bearings and oil seals are used to ensure uninterrupted performance.
