Taper Roller Bearings

Various types of four row tapered roller bearings are used for roll neck application. One of the types commonly used is TQO type. The TQO type of bearing consists of two double cones (with retainer and rollers), one cone spacer, one double cup, two single cups and two cup spacers. Lubrication is provided through two cup spacers. Matched assemblies are serially numbered to ensure correct installation sequence. PLT four row tapered roller bearing is particularly suitable for roll neck application in rolling mills. Roll neck bearings are made of low carbon steel, which is case hardened to give each part a hard wear resistance surface and a shock resistance core. This is done to meet the rugged operating conditions, which is inherent in this application. It also enables the bearing to take momentary overloads, minimising the possibility of premature bearing damage and costly repair. A significant improvement in bearing life is easily obtained by proper fitting, maintenance and inspection procedures.
