Self-Lubricating Spherical Bearings

Spas Lubo Technologies offers LuBo #500 self-aligning, self-lubricating Spherical Bearings. These consist of an inner and an outer ring with curved mating surfaces. Either or both of these curved surfaces can be dry-lubricated, three inner ring material choices are available depending on the application conditions: copper alloy, bronze, and cast iron. Solid lubricant selection is also based on the application conditions. The outer ring is made of carbon steel bearing with a protective coating for corrosion resistance. Upon request, the company recommends coating the inner surface of the outer ring with MoS2 for longer bearing life. Specials to customers’ specifications: the company produces non-standard, angular contact, self-lubricating spherical bearings in both metric and inch dimensions. A number of factors must be considered when ordering customized spherical bearings, such as the magnitude and direction of applied loads, operating temperature and other environmental conditions, presence of corrosive fluids, etc. A careful evaluation of these factors is critical to the proper selection of bearing materials and lubricants.
