Counter Flow Induced Draft FRP Cooling Tower

Mihir Polacel CM Series counter flow cooling towers offer several superior features. The towers are adapted to tropical conditions incorporating GEA Polacel design on computerised data base. The selection and thermal design of these cooling towers is done on computers with utmost precision, accuracy and guaranteed performance to achieve the desired conditions. The basic design offered is in counter flow induced draft type in rectangular shape with distinct advantage of operational ease and feasibility of adding a number of cells to enhance the capacity. The various components of cooling towers are sized and manufactured to the highest standards of quality in line with the design and manufacturing standards of GEA Polacel of The Netherlands, and distinctly incorporate the Indian conditions to its adaptability and suitability to operate under worst design conditions. Use of energy efficient honeycomb PVC fills with unique water distribution by gravity from an array of low pressure drop polypropylene nozzles gives technical superiority in addition to the attractive looks of FRP panels. The compact design provides inherent, easy access and avoids splashing and wastage of scarce water with efficient PVC drift eliminators and the unique water distribution system. The fans are mounted on top of the tower with contoured FRP fan deck and fan stack. The axial flow low RPM fan is directly mounted on extended threaded shaft of vertical flange mounted type electric motors with totally enclosed IP 55 weather-proof protection and Class F insulation. The direct mounted fan is an advanced design compared to either gear driven units or belt driven types and no speed reduction is required, which eliminates the mechanical losses at the motor fan coupling and hence results in power saving.
