Altex Electric Company manufactures voltage control units (AVRs), and static excitation systems (SES). These are suitable for various makes and various ratings of AC generators. The AVRs are reliable, compact, simple, user friendly and economical. The company also supplies spare parts for AC generators of various makes and various ratings. The AVRs will have different outputs to suit the excitation requirements of different size of AC generators. The regulators are available for LT, 415 V, 3-phase, 3.3 kV, 6.6 kV and 11 kV, 3-phase generators. The AVR will derive power from main AC winding and supply power to the exciter field of the AC generator and will maintain the generator output voltage within close limits from no load to full load condition. AVRs are available both in encapsulated and in open models. They are available with output up to 15 A DC and 350 V DC. Static excitation systems will feed excitation power directly to the main field through slip rings. Standard AVR outputs are: 6 A, 95 V DC, 10 A, 85 V DC, 10 A, 160 V DC, and 15 A, 200 V DC. AVRs with higher output are also available on demand.
