Shanco Industries manufactures FLP Motors. It is used for petrol dispensing machines, man coolers, fans, pumps and air conditioners. It is a capacitor start and run type, based on a unique exclusive stamping. Features: 1. These motors have a higher power factor compared to standard induction motors; 2. It is desired that the motor has a higher efficiency at rated load resulting in lower power consumption (power input=output power divided by efficiency; power factor has no bearing on input power, though it may have on current); 3. It is developed as a single-phase FLP motor, which has a high power factor and also higher efficiency; 4. These motors have a higher efficiency at rated load - the capacitor run motor has peculiar characteristic that it can be designed for highest efficiency at a given load even when it may consume somewhat higher watts at near no load conditions; this is due to the load sharing of the main and auxiliary windings which vary with load; and 5. The motor is particularly developed for petrol pump duty amongst other applications.
