The DC operated electromagnetic spring applied fail-safe brakes manufactured by Mod E-Tech Engineering are made with Italian collaboration and design. These are normally On type that is the brake is always On and applied. When a DC voltage is applied to it the brake releases, thus allowing the shaft on which it is mounted to rotate. In case of no voltage, the brake is applied immediately and the rotating shaft on which the brake is mounted is held immediately. This also forms a safety mechanism in which the load is stopped from being moved in case of no power. These can be mounted either on the backside of an electric motor or on any other driven shaft which is to be braked. These can be supplied with four different optional attachments and in various sizes and capacities. The general applications are in brake motor, crane hoist, material-handling equipment, CNS machines, packaging, textile and other machines and other varied applications. The salient features of these brakes are, strong structure, quite operation (<70dBA), simple assembly and installation, good heat dissipation, adjustable torque, optional manual release and dust seal, epoxy resin bonded vibration proof coil, class ‘F’ insulation, metal parts are rust protected, many options of friction plate and mounting flange, IP 64 protection against dust and water sprinklings.
