Contactor is an electromechanical switching device capable of carrying, making and breaking currents under normal circuit conditions, including operating overload conditions. Contactors are used for switching and to control electric motors, lighting, heating, capacitor banks and other electrical loads. Thermal overload relays are used to protect electric motors from heating caused to winding due to overloading.

The Cosmic Star series covers contactor range from 4 A-630 A in 3P and 4P execution and overload relays 0.1 A-93 A in direct version and 30 A-630 A in electronic version and MPCB (Motor Protection Circuit Breaker) specifically designed for control and protection of motors. The Cosmic Star range is maintenance-free, offers ease of fitment and is a complete, reliable product with a worldwide replacement. It has common side and front mounted auxiliary contact blocks up to 80 A. It also has a top and bottom wiring option for coils up to 80 A contactor, front access to contacts, shrouded terminals for safety against accidental touch.

The contactors provide reliable and safe switching and the thermal relays offer close and accurate protection against overload. These user-friendly series comes with a wide range of add-on/ optional accessories to meet varied application needs in motor, distribution circuits and automation systems.

With facility of DIN rail mounting up to 95 A and direct mounting with O/L relays upto 95 A, it also has shrouded terminals to prevent accidental contact. Thermal overload relays are ambient temperature compensated and are independent of variation in ambient temperature. Protection against single phasing and unbalanced voltages has been provided by means of differential tripping mechanism, which ensures positive protection of motors/loads. They are provided with 1 NO + 1 NC potentially free contacts which can be used for signalling. The relays can be used in either Auto or Manual reset mode. This range adheres to IS/IEC: 60947-4-1 standards.
