Ador Welding becomes first Indian maker to meet NPCIL technical needs

Ador Welding Limited, India's leading manufacturer of welding equipment, consumables, and automation systems, celebrates a momentous achievement of over four decades collaboration with the Nuclear Power Corporation of India (NPCIL). With a glorious history, this pioneering partnership has led Ador Welding Limited to become the first Indian supplier to meet specific technical requirements set by NPCIL for welding consumables, as guided by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME).

Being a significant nuclear powerhouse in India, NPCIL’s requirement of welding materials with the highest level of accuracy and dependability was met only by Ador Welding Limited, hereby surpassing expectations and successfully meeting the acceptance criteria and supplying materials of unparalleled quality.

Somnath Chakravarty, Head – R&D and Quality (Welding Consumables) at Ador Welding Limited, expressed, "The partnership between Ador Welding Limited and the NPCIL is based on technical competence and a mutual commitment to unshakable quality standards for years. We take immense pride in this project as it reflects our unwavering commitment to the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat, where we aim to empower Indian industries with world-class welding solutions. By achieving ASME's stringent requirements, we have demonstrated our capabilities and commitment to excellence. We remain dedicated to fostering partnerships that drive innovation, success in the nuclear power sector and unlock new opportunities beyond."

The welding solution was through a single allotted heat, enhanced XRF analysis, and exhaustive Spectrometer testing techniques. These measures secure consistency, homogeneity, improved weld metal performance and longevity. Over the course of eight weeks, cross-functional teams from both organisations have worked tirelessly to verify that every stage of the processes, from procurement to manufacture and testing, followed the strictest regulations. The synchronized efforts have reduced costs and delivery timelines, supporting the nuclear powerhouse's mission to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in their operations.

Achieving this milestone marks a substantial stride for Ador towards the glorious ‘Make in India’ initiative, contributing to the growth of indigenous manufacturing capabilities in the country and its commitment to advancing India's vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat (Self-Reliant India).

Ador Welding Limited is a pioneering company in the welding industry, offering cutting-edge solutions for various sectors including power, infrastructure, manufacturing, and defense. With over seven decades of experience and a strong focus on innovation, Ador Welding Limited has established itself as a trusted partner for reliable, efficient, and technologically advanced welding solutions.
