Bangalore, 28th January 2013: The Indian Machine Tool Manufacturer's Association (IMTMA) celebrates the 45th year of IMTEX with IMTEX 2013 and Tooltech 2013, with an extravagant inaugural ceremony in the midst of several leading industry professionals who graced the occasion with their presence.
The seven-day metal cutting exhibition starting from the 24th January 2013 at BIEC in Bangalore was inaugurated by, Mr S Sandilya, President, Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers, Mr Harish Lakshman, Vice President, Automotive Components Manufacturers' Association and Mr Vikram Sirur, President, IMTMA.
Addressing the inaugural ceremony, Mr S Sandilya, President, Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers said, "The automobile industry may produce automobiles, it is however a process that brings together the most diverse of industries. The machine tool industry plays an important and impartial role, catering to the need of both, small and large automakers alike. Forming the backbone of many major sectors of industrial activity in India in the traditional manufacturing context, the machine tool industry in India has played and will continue to play a key role in enhancing competitiveness and enabling development of quality and excellence in the output of the manufacturing industry and of the Indian economy as a whole."
Expressing his thoughts, ACMA Vice President, Harish Lakshman said: "Auto component industry is catering to ever expanding domestic market and exporting to external replacement market. The automobile industry globally is the single largest customer of the machine tools industry. There is a huge need for the machine tools industry to expand production capacity exponentially to meet the demand of the original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and their ancillaries, including small and medium enterprises in the supply chain."
Sharing his views on India's global ranking, Mr Vikram Sirur, President - IMTMA said, "For the Indian machine tool industry, it marks the beginning of a new era of hope - to take on challenges of tomorrow with courage and confidence. I am proud to mention that this edition is the largest ever IMTEX fair in its 44 years of existence. Over 900 exhibitors are showcasing the very best machines and manufacturing solutions, as well as potential futuristic metal-cutting technologies. This exhibition, clearly, will reinforce what we feel is a stepping stone towards Indian machine tool industry's journey on 'VISION 2020'. "
Mr Parakramsinh Jadeja, CEO - Jyoti CNC Automation Pvt Ltd, won the IMTMA Premier Outstanding Entrepreneur Award in memory of Vinod Doshi.
Mr S N Mishra, Vice Chairman, Bharat Fritz Werner Ltd won the IMTMA-BFW Lifetime Contribution Award in memory of H R Gupta.
IMTEX 2013 features over 900 exhibitors and 600 machine tools weighing 6,000 tonnes with a total value of Rs 1500 crore in their premises. With 25 countries in the segment of machining tools exhibiting, and group participation from, IMTEX 2013 is ready to take the manufacturing sector to the next league. IMTEX 2013 focuses on high end metal cutting technology for sectors like defence, automobile, medical engineering and others. It will showcase the latest trends in metal cutting along with innovations which are imperative for companies to adopt in order to keep ahead of competition.
