Dinesh Kumar Modi, who ventured into business with the launch of Krishna Electronics in 1991, talks to Industrial Products Finder about the entrepreneurial journey of over a quarter of  century.

What are the various types of cable accessories manufactured/supply by Krishna Electronics?

Krishna Electronics is engaged in import/export and supply of a wide range of components and spares for electronic and electrical industries. These are made from quality-tested raw materials and are appreciated by regular users owing to some of the unique features such as electrical stability, high tensile strength and longer service life. We also meet customised specifications for our clients’ benefit.

The regular products are KSS range of nylon cable ties, wire connectors, PCB supports, PVC wiring ducts, screw fastened supports, tie tools and duct cutters, all types of cable accessories, strain relief bushings, closed end wire connectors, heat shrinkable tubes, tubes and sleeves, insulated terminals and snap rivets, etc.

What is the USP of these products in terms of materials and applications?

The product range which we supply is highly specialised with niche applications. These are also very convenient to use and user friendly, sourced from a world leading brand called KSS. As all our products are of international standards so these are highly recommended to and preferred by users instead of local brands that are often found wanting.
Apart from standard products, we can also develop customised products under agreement exclusively for the client according to the specific requirements, designs and specifications of the customer. 

As for quality, it has always been our forte and to achieve this, we have established strict quality policies, which are followed within the organisational hierarchy. Each of spares and components – closed end wire connectors, heat shrinkable tubes, flex duct cutters, self adhesive cable mounts, snap rivets and others –undergoes a series of strict inspection procedures that minimises every possibility of quality degradation.

How strong/effective is the distribution network across the country?

Krishna Electronics has about 60 to 70 strong dealer network on a pan India basis with sufficient number of ready stocks and after sales support to approach the local market and OEMs. The customer does not have to wait a number of days for supply from our dealers any time.

We have a full-fledged ware house, world class logistic facilities and a highly experienced and skilled staff that helps in delivering the products within the mutually agreed time frame at competitive prices. The material is supplied with UL and RoHS test certificates as well ISO 9001 standards. As we are regularly maintaining bulk stock in every item, we can deliver our orders in bulk as well as smaller quantities and as a rule, the quality of our products and services always remains the same, regardless of specification or quantities desired. Whether big or small, we respect all our clients and every care is taken to give them a pleasant and hassle free business experience.

What is the company’s history, especially in design and development?

Krishna Electronics started in 1991 and has since grown from strength to strength each year. We have developed a full-fledged research and development department that facilitates in providing a wide range of components and spares for electronic and electrical industries as per the latest advancements in the industry. Our R&D is managed by researchers who are engaged in continuous research for solutions based on problems faced by the industry. They strategically study the market trends and help us in comprehending the market dynamics. Our researchers work in close collaboration with the production unit and the design unit and help us in fabricating our range of components and spares adopting the latest technologies.
In other words, they are the ones who successfully enable us in developing and upgrading our range adopting innovative techniques keeping us abreast of time. Owing to their dedicated efforts, we have been able to carve a niche in the market having an edge over our competitors.

Any breakthrough product launch that made a difference?

In 1996 after a successful 5-year journey in design and development of products and establishing a country wide network, the company had a break through when it tied up with Asia’s No.1 and largest selling Taiwan based company named Kai Suh Suh Enterprise Co Ltd that owns the famous brand name KSS. Today, we are one of the largest sales partners of KSS brand for our principals. 

What are the future plans?

We have plans to double our business over the next 2 years, and depending upon the market condition, also set up a manufacturing facility in collaboration with our principals.
