The EMC will be established on approximately 200 acres in Sector 10 of the Yamuna Authority region, as part of the central government’s EMC 2 policy. This strategic development is poised to usher in a new phase of industrial growth in Uttar Pradesh.

Dr Arunvir Singh, CEO, Yamuna Authority, highlighted the project’s significance stating, “The EMC will be a transformative development for our region. It will attract substantial investment and create numerous job opportunities, solidifying Noida’s role as a major industrial center.”

Havells India will play a pivotal role in the project, committing Rs 8 billion to establish a manufacturing unit on 50 acres within the EMC. As the anchor unit, Havells’ investment is expected to spur the growth of a robust electronics manufacturing ecosystem in the area.

The company will also lead the creation of a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) in partnership with other industry players. This collaborative model will facilitate the allocation of developed plots to partner companies for their manufacturing units, fostering a dynamic industrial environment.

The central government’s  Rs 1.4 billion grant will support the development of common facility centers and other critical infrastructure, laying the groundwork for a world-class manufacturing hub.

The Noida EMC will encompass a wide range of electronics production sectors, including:
- Automotive Electronics
- Industrial Electronics
- Consumer Electronics (such as fans, ACs, and coolers)
- Medical Electronics
- Computer Hardware
- Telecom and Networking Equipment
- E-Mobility Components
- Switch Gears

This diverse focus is designed to cater to both domestic and international markets, enhancing India’s position in global electronics exports.
The EMC follows the successful establishment of the Medical Device Park (MDP) in the Yamuna Authority region. The MDP, developed on 350 acres in Sector 28, aims to strengthen India’s self-reliance in medical equipment manufacturing. With a Rs 1 billion grant for its common facility centre, the MDP has seen significant progress, including the allocation of 74 plots and ongoing construction.

The introduction of the EMC is expected to have a substantial impact on Noida’s economy by fostering a comprehensive electronics manufacturing ecosystem. Industry experts anticipate that the EMC will attract ancillary industries, create thousands of direct and indirect jobs, and boost the local economy.

The development of the EMC, alongside the existing MDP, positions Noida as a leading player in India’s drive towards technological self-reliance and global competitiveness. The project reflects the government’s commitment to the “Make in India” initiative and sets the stage for Noida to become a key hub in the global electronics manufacturing landscape. As the project progresses, the Yamuna Authority region is poised to shine as a beacon of India’s technological and industrial advancement.
