Nuberg EPC, a global leader in engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) services for the chemical process industry, has been awarded the EPC contract to execute a 120TPD Chlor-Alkali expansion and an 80TPD Calcium Chloride Plant for Al Ghaith Chemical Industries LLC at Sur Industrial City, Oman.
The project, currently underway and scheduled for completion within 19 months, marks the second phase of Al Ghaith’s integrated chemical complex and represents the first-of-its-kind large-scale Chlor-Alkali expansion in Oman. Executed on a Lump Sum Turnkey (LSTK) basis, the scope covers Design, FEED, Detailed Engineering, Procurement, Fabrication, Construction, Commissioning, and Handover, reflecting Nuberg EPC’s comprehensive in-house capabilities across the EPC value chain, and underlining its pivotal role in advancing the Sultanate’s industrial transformation and chemical self-reliance.
In Phase I, Nuberg EPC successfully delivered a 70TPD Chlor-Alkali Plant, establishing Al Ghaith’s manufacturing base in Oman. The current expansion adds 120TPD of Chlor-Alkali capacity, taking the plant’s total capacity to 190TPD and substantially strengthening Oman’s downstream chemical ecosystem.
Over the years, Nuberg EPC and Al Ghaith Industries have cultivated a strong and enduring partnership built on advanced technology capabilities, precision engineering, and timely project execution. In Abu Dhabi, this collaboration has yielded landmark successes — from the commissioning of a 60TPD Chlor-Alkali Plant, later expanded to 120TPD, to the execution of a 125TPD Calcium Chloride Plant and a 50TPD Carbon Dioxide (CO?) Plant. Each milestone exemplifies Nuberg EPC’s capability to deliver complex, high-value chemical plants with world-class quality and reliability.
Together, these achievements reaffirm Nuberg EPC’s global leadership in integrated EPC solutions, driven by modular design innovation, robust execution frameworks, and an unwavering commitment to creating technology-driven, next-generation, and future-ready industrial infrastructure worldwide.
Al Ghaith Chemical Industries is one of the most recognised names in the Middle East’s chemical sector, with operations across Oman, the UAE, and the wider GCC region. The company produces caustic soda, calcium chloride, hydrochloric acid, sodium hypochlorite, and other chlorine derivatives, serving vital industries such as oil & gas, water treatment, and manufacturing. Its continued capacity growth underscores a commitment to regional self-reliance and eco-efficient industrialisation.
“Al Ghaith’s business expansion is not merely a measure of growth — it is a reaffirmation of the deep trust our partners place in Nuberg’s technological acumen, EPC excellence, and execution credibility,” said A.K. Tyagi, Chairman & Managing Director, Nuberg Group of Industries. “Our long-standing partnership with Al Ghaith underscores Nuberg’s prowess in delivering world-class, value-centric EPC solutions that power industries and propel economies. Together, we are driving Oman’s industrial transformation — strengthening its chemical manufacturing landscape through projects that exemplify innovation, operational agility, and uncompromising safety.”
Beyond caustic soda, Nuberg EPC has emerged as a global frontrunner in the engineering and execution of chlorine derivatives including calcium chloride, ferric chloride, stable bleaching powder, chlorinated paraffin wax, EDC to PVC, chloro methanes, and other downstream chemicals. Given chlorine’s highly reactive and hazardous nature, its conversion into safer, value-added derivatives is vital to industrial sustainability and safety. Leveraging advanced process technologies, automated control systems, and modular chlor-alkali plant design, Nuberg ensures precision, scalability, and seamless integration of chlorine derivative production in line with international environmental and safety benchmarks.
Expanding beyond conventional EPC domains, Nuberg EPC is charting new frontiers across Green Energy, Oil & Gas, and Fertilisers — driving the convergence of innovation, efficiency, and ecological intelligence. In Green Energy, the company is advancing solutions in Green Hydrogen, Balance of Stack systems, CBG, Hydrogen Mobility, 2G Bio-Ethanol, Green Methanol, and Green Ammonia. Its expertise further extends to NPK Fertiliser Plants in the Fertiliser segment, and SRU and PPU units within the Oil & Gas sector — reaffirming Nuberg EPC’s position at the forefront of next-generation industrial transformation.
This project further cements Nuberg’s status as a trusted EPC partner for process industries worldwide, aligning with Oman’s Vision 2040 through innovative, high-performance, and next-gen industrial infrastructure. With each milestone, Nuberg continues to set new standards in EPC delivery, driving economic growth, technological advancement, and long-term client value.
Over the years, Nuberg EPC and Al Ghaith Industries have cultivated a strong and enduring partnership built on advanced technology capabilities, precision engineering, and timely project execution.
