Noida facility to drive 'Make in India' for global markets, says JB Park

Reflecting on Samsung’s long-standing connection with Uttar Pradesh, President and CEO of Samsung Southwest Asia, JB Park, highlighted the company's significant milestone in 2018 with the establishment of one of its largest mobile manufacturing units in Noida.   "Back in 1996, it was hard to imagine Samsung setting up one of its largest mobile manufacturing facilities in Noida. By 2018, this vision became a reality, thanks to the invaluable guidance from Prime Minister Modi and the unwavering support of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath," Park said.

He emphasised that the Noida factory exemplifies the 'Make in India' initiative and reiterated Samsung’s commitment to producing for global markets from India.  Park also noted that Samsung has strengthened its partnership with Uttar Pradesh over the years, with two of its three research and development centres in India located in Noida.

These centres are at the cutting edge of AI and product innovation, contributing to numerous patents and driving technological advancements both in India and globally.  Praising Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath as one of India’s most impressive leaders, Park expressed confidence in the state's development trajectory.

"Uttar Pradesh is rapidly advancing and aims to become a trillion-dollar economy by 2028. The recent investor ceremony signals that Uttar Pradesh is on track to achieve this ambitious goal," he said.  Park concluded by reaffirming Samsung’s dedication to Uttar Pradesh and its people. "Samsung remains committed to the state, focusing on mutual prosperity and enhancing localisation efforts. We will continue to introduce advanced technology and support the employability of Uttar Pradesh’s youth through our CSR initiatives," he added.
