Inox Air Products, Maharashtra govt ink $3 bn deal for State's First Green Ammonia Plant

Inox Air Products announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Maharashtra government to establish the state's inaugural Green Ammonia Plant. This plant is projected to have a capacity of 500,000 metric tons per annum (MTPA) and an estimated investment of $3 billion.

According to the company's statement, the goal is to have the project commissioned within a 3-5 year timeframe. The facility will be dedicated to producing Liquid Ammonia, serving as a climate-neutral carrier for Hydrogen.

The MoU was formalised at the Maharashtra pavilion, strategically positioned to showcase the state's investment opportunities during the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting. Key figures in attendance included Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Industries Minister Uday Samant, Principal Secretary of Industries and Mining Harshdeep Kamble, and Siddharth Jain, Promoter and Director of the INOX Group.
