Lorenzo Amedeo, the Chairperson of CATTINI e FIGLIO, highlighted that Cattini, founded in 1950 for the production of small gears for motorcycles and hay elevators, evolved into a corporation within four years.

Cattini e Figlio Spa, an Italian company, is poised to establish a manufacturing unit in Pune's Sanaswadi area, investing 2.5 million euros for the production of various machinery products like gears, shafts, and synchronizers. The new venture will be known as Cattini India.

Thomas Mathew, the Director of Cattini India, announced during the inaugural ceremony that the company, spanning five acres, will contribute to local and national economic stability. In the initial phase, an estimated turnover of Rs 450 million is anticipated, with a target of Rs 2.5 billion in the next three years for phase 2. Mathew aims for revenue of Rs 6.5 to 7 billion within five to seven years. He mentioned the initial employment of 60 individuals, with the prospect of an increase in the future as equipment will be imported from Italy.

Chairperson Lorenzo Amedeo emphasised that Cattini India, a subsidiary of Cattini e Figlio, is a market leader in Europe's commercial vehicles segment for gears, shafts, and synchronizers.

Sanaswadi village sarpanch Dagdu Nana expressed enthusiasm in welcoming the company, stating that the village of around 50,000 people eagerly anticipates growth. He assured that the necessary road infrastructure has been provided, and any company concerns in the area would be promptly addressed.

Dagdu Nana highlighted the availability of skilled local employees for Cattini and assured that if qualifications align, the workforce would be supplied. He also pointed out that the absence of issues like mathadi workers extorting money or exploiting companies makes Sanaswadi a secure space for industrial development, distinguishing it from the Chakan industrial region.
