Galvanized and Color Coated Steel market profiles and entities were gathered under one roof by Steel Group and SUFI to improve cohesiveness of the industry.
 
Steel Group and Steel Users Federation of India (SUFI) held the '6th Galvanizing Coating and Profiling (GPC) Summit 2018' on 13th April at The Westin Mumbai. The objective of the summit was to increase the awareness about the galvanised and color-coated steel in India. Over 300 delegates across steel industry from more than 10 countries participated at the summit.
 
The keynote speaker at the summit was Dileep Bhatt, President, JSW Steel Ltd. There were discussions on Indian coated steel market opportunities and challenges and promoting usage of coated steel (PEBs, Sandwitch panel and solar).
 
Rajesh Mehrotra, MD, Berger Becker Coatings moderated the panel discussion session on Indian coated steel market opportunities and challenges. While the panel discussion on 'Promoting Usage of Coated Steel: PEBs, Sandwitch panel and Solar' was moderated by Mohamed Yassar Nabeel, Approvals Engineer FM Approvals LLC India.
 
Commenting on the occasion Nikunj Turakhia, President of Steel Users Federation of India (SUFI) said, “Through the 6th Galvanizing Coating and Profiling (GPC) Summit we aim to increase the awareness about the galvanised and color-coated steel in India and bring steel makers and users segment under one roof. While there are many opportunities in the market at the same time there are many challenges too and through this summit we have tried to address these issues.”
 
The conference witnessed national and international speakers presenting on various innovations in the field of coated steel across the globe. JSW Steel Limited made a presentation on 'New Innovation and Trends in Galvalume Steel', 'Embracing sustainable Value Proposition, Sustainable Coil Coating Solutions' by Nicklas Augustsson, Global Sustainability Director, Becker Industrial Coatings, and on 'Coated Steel Market, Domestic and Global Perspective' by R V Sridhar, CEO, Essar Steel Pune Facility.
 
Some of the top companies who participated were Essar Steel, JSW steel, BMW Industries Ltd., Steelco Gujarat Ltd, Berger Becker Coatings Pvt Ltd, Tata Bluescope steel Ltd, Asian colour Coated Ispat Ltd, GTZ (India) Pvt Ltd, Becker Industrial Coatings AB, Sweden, Victory Metals Australia and many more.
 
The Steel Users Federation of India (SUFI) is an organisation which has been formed to pursue the agenda addressing critical issues relating to steel users and contributing the growth of the nation. SUFI  works as a catalyst for making policy frameworks and changes which will boost the economic growth of the country. 
 
With the specific objective to create a common platform to present a collective voice for the entire steel industry, they have registered; SUFI, an idea to change. SUFI is an association representing the problems of member groups with any and all authorities in support of the problems to bring about ease of business.
