Automation 2015 was held successfully in Mumbai in August 2015 with participants pleased with the event.
The 10th edition of Automation 2015, the flagship event of IED Communications, which was held in August 2015 at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, Mumbai, brought together the stalwarts of the global automation industry for four days. The 4-day exhibition showcased production engineering and associated software solutions for industrial, process, factory, building and electric automation, instrumentation and control, robotics, hydraulics, pneumatics, wireless and bus technology under one roof. Automation 2015 also had on display solutions and systems for automobile, oil and gas, power and energy management, chemicals/petrochemicals/fertilisers industries and for OEMs. “We are proud to serve Indian industries for their economical growth through business development on the platform of Automation 2015,” said Mr M Arokiaswamy, Managing Director of IED Communications Limited, the organisers, during the course of the event.
“Mr Arokiaswamy has been very instrumental in providing a business friendly environment for the industry for a very long time, through a monthly publication and annual exhibition for the Automation Industry, bringing together key players and new entrants in this field. Being an entrepreneur from the electronics and industrial automation industry, I have experienced first hand the importance of such events, which connect businesses and help new innovations to come to the force,” said Mr Shivaji Adhalrao Patil, founder, Dynalog India Ltd, and a regular participant. The company is in the business of providing intelligent automation solutions.
Mr K Nandakumar, Chairman & Managing Director, Chemtrols Industries Ltd, said, “Capital goods, more specifically automation, has greater role in making ‘Make in India’ a reality. Automation, the International Exhibition & Conference, is a great platform, which showcases instrumentation products and automation systems. Mr Jasbir Singh, VP, Business Development – Essar Projects (India) thanked the organisers in general, Mr Arokiaswamy in particular, on the successful event. “Automation 2015 was a grand success, the seminars and conferences organised as part of the exhibition were superb and gave immense information to participants. I want to express my sincere appreciation for your advance planning, which made the four days event such a grand success, which flowed smoothly and flawlessly,” her said.
One of the main highlights of the Automation series of exhibitions is the CEOs Summit, which was held on August 24, with the theme of ‘Business Performance’. Mr Rajat Kishore, Managing Director – Invensys India & VP Process, Automation, Schneider Electric, said: “The Automation event and its associated CEO Forum has, over the years, literally brought the Automation Industry together with a galaxy of end users, manufacturers, customers, consultants, analysts and eminent leaders sharing common ground. The CEO Summit 2015 aptly covered the very contemporary subject of maximising Business Performance and the role automation therein.”
There was also a one-day conference on ‘Safety & Security of Plants’, held during the event, with the theme use of automation to ensure better safety and security in order to avoid any accident or disaster in varied fields and sectors such as oil & gas, refineries, chemicals and petrochemicals, nuclear power plants, power stations, fertilisers, cement, paints and other major plants as well as shop floors across all industrial segments.
Mr Abhijit Chatterjee, Managing Director – Adage Automation Pvt Ltd, said about his participation: “On behalf of Siemens AG – Analytical Products Group, we have participated in many global exhibitions and fairs around the world including the Achema fairs. This is certainly on a smaller scale compared to global events but certainly very professionally organised and superbly managed, with focus on safety, facility management and crowd handling. Easy overall layout for visitors to navigate and excellent co-ordination with the exhibitors to set up the stalls, the build up to the event with publicity across the country were really outstanding.” Adage Automation is a specialist gas analytical company, delivering integrated and engineered solutions to the large and mid size industries for process optimisation, safety and continuous emission monitoring applications.
Automation is not just restricted to instruments and instrumentation. There were participants from industries using automation in their products and processes. Mr Sameer Kelkar, Director, Grind Master Machines Pvt Ltd, said, “Grind Master is known as a leading machine builder. Automation 2015 was a good platform to participate for our Automation Group. We displayed a Robotic Aluminium Deflashing Machine, along with other innovations in robotic fettling, machining and polishing. Robotic aluminium deflashing is a revolution in aluminium die casting industry. It is exciting to be on the spur of this revolution with a good robust solution.”
Omron Corporation has been engaged in the field of automation based on its core technology of sensing and control. With such glowing tributes for the event, the organisers are now preparing for the 2016 edition of Automation, scheduled for August 22-25, 2016 at Bombay Exhibition Centre (BEC), NSE Complex, Mumbai.
India’s installed stainless steel production capacity currently stands at 7.5 million tonnes, with a utilisation rate of around 60%.
