Nothing joins ‘Make in India’ movement with CMF Phone 1 India manufacturing

Nothing, a UK-based tech company, announced on July 11 that its latest budget-friendly smartphone, the CMF Phone 1, will be manufactured in India. This is an exciting development for smartphone enthusiasts in India and aligns with the ‘Make in India’ policy, leveraging the country’s strong manufacturing ecosystem while contributing to the local economy.

Nothing has chosen to produce the CMF Phone 1 in India, emphasising the country’s importance to its global strategy. In a press release, the company highlighted India's potential as a crucial market. The goal is to deliver high-quality products while supporting the local economy and creating job opportunities.

The company stated, “It aims to harness the rich manufacturing ecosystem of the country while investing in the local economy.”

This move not only demonstrates Nothing’s commitment to India but also aligns with the broader “Make in India” agenda, which encourages foreign firms to manufacture their products domestically.

The CMF Phone 1, launched in India on July 8, is designed with customisation in mind, catering to the specific preferences of the Indian market. This smartphone is part of Nothing’s broader CMF ecosystem, which includes the CMF Buds Pro 2 wireless earbuds and the CMF Watch Pro 2 smartwatch.

One of the standout features of the CMF Phone 1 is its hardware customisation. Users can choose from interchangeable back panel cases in various colours and textures, including black, orange, light green, and blue.

The phone also supports various attachable accessories, including a stand, lanyard, and card case, which can be linked via the device’s rotational dial and screws. This level of customisation allows customers to personalise the phone to their specific preferences and needs.
