Passivated Stainless Steel Drums

Eagle Stainless Container has announced the availability of stainless steel drums for use in a variety of applications. Constructed of 304 and 316L stainless steel, they are ideal for storing, transporting or autoclaving materials. Available drum capacities are 39.7, 52.8 to 79.25 gal, and weigh 37, 48.5 and 75 lbs, respectively. Air tight lids with lid gaskets made from silicon rubber are standard. Materials such as Buna-N, EPDM, Viton and platinum cured silicon can be specified. Other accessories available include autoclavable dollies, with non-marking phenolic wheels and handles as well as extensive custom modifications. All products are passivated and electropolished for maximum corrosion resistance. Passivating the steel removes any harmful contaminants from the surface of the steel. Electropolishing the steel reduces adhesion and contamination of the stainless steel surface and reduces Ra by as much as 50%. Electropolishing also increases corrosion resistance while allowing for easy cleaning.
