Power Capacitors

Neptune (India) Ltd, in collaboration with Ducati Energia SPA, Italy, has introduced a new generation of LV Power Factor Correction Capacitors and APFC (automatic power factor control) relays. Floppy Line is the latest generation of LV PFC capacitors which sums up safety, reliability, long life expectancy, easy handling and mounting. PPM technology using polyurethane resin as an impregnating agent adds to the stability of capacitors. They are of sleek modular construction with only one thermoplastic container size for 5, 10 and 12.5 kVAR. Easy banking of capacitors with horizontal as well as vertical mounting makes cost effective capacitor bank panels. Capacitive elements are provided with a sensitive Floppy Cap overpressure protection device. Automatic power factor control relays are microprocessor controlled systems which automatically manage capacitor banks and compensate for the reactive power absorbed by the load. The Series RMC control relays are fully static units controlled by an 8-bit microprocessor with H-CMOS technology. Salient features are: automatic self-adjustment to any capacitor step value; digital indication of power factor, preset parameters and specified installation data; no-volt relay feature to immediately disconnect all capacitors in the event of power failure; overtemperature, overvoltage, and harmonic overload protection; and an RS-232 serial port for connecting to the PC.
