Encoder For Brushless Motors

Mahims Systems offers Rotary Optical Encoders, robust and trouble free performance. The company has introduced a new model, HH58UVW, useful for brushless motors. This is a transducer, which is an interface between mechanical rotating motion and power controller of motor. Features: standard counts 1024 per revolution with quadrature A B signals with mark to space ratio 1:1 maintained; along with provided commutation control signals UVW for digital controller; semi hollow shaft can be coupled to motor shaft directly for shaft sizes from 8-16mm dia; and mounting on motor frame of this weight less device is very simple by flexible SS plate. Special shape of SS flexible plate provided acts as coupling that ensures attenuation in conducting mechanical vibrations to the main internal IR sensing assembly inside encoder, further extends reliability and life of an encoder. In rotating condition slight misalignment gets adjusted within tolerance without missing a single pulse. Protection of casing is by IP67, max permissible speed is 4000 RPM, with max withstanding temperature 70ºC. Radial output connection with shielded cable makes compact assembly within the motor. Electrical supply of 7-30 V DC at no load current 60 mA, optional line drive output is available. Supply connection protected with reverse polarity, output with push pull/line driver with short circuit protection, max 80 mA per channel available to drive controller at long distance. Application with UVW signals adds number of features in specification of motor, like power savings, fine control on speed, more torque at lower speed. For the manufacturer of motors incorporating these features in motor's specifications fetches more returns at lower investment.
