KVAR Max is a real time state-of-the-art electronic switched system designed for unity power factor for various load conditions. Types available: basic systems – include iron core reactors to limit the inrush current; harmonic filter systems – include reactors that detune/tune the network to prevent resonance and absorb harmonics; and unbalanced systems – individual phases are separately corrected, line to line or line to neutral. Key features and advantages: transient free capacitor group switching, using electronic switching elements; compatible with diesel generators and windmills; avoids wave form distortions, since capacitors are connected and disconnected during zero crossing; prevents damage to sensitive electronic equipment; saves energy by reduced maximum demand (MD), PF bonus and savings in losses; accurate power factor control, even in the presence of harmonics; dramatically increases the life expectancy of switching elements and capacitors; built-in network analyser, measuring all network parameters including harmonics; and modular and upgradable with increased plant load.
