BASE Automation Technologies P Ltd, an ISO 9001: 2008 company, specialises in providing Special Purpose Machines (SPMs). These are custom made machines for specific applications as per requirement, for use in a variety of industries from food to automobile manufacturing. Machines range from micro pneumatic presses to high speed (10 mtr per second) gantry robotic systems.

BASE micro presses: Using pneumatic, hydro-pneumatic and hydraulic cylinders, the company has delivered simple, low cost, precision pressing equipment. Applications: circlip insertion, riveting of sheet metal components, oil seal pressing, bush pressing and dowel pin insertion.

BASE vision base sorting/inspection system: High speed colour, size based sorting machines using vision systems. Applications: fastener sorting system, oil seal inspection system and cashew nut sorting/inspection.

BASE Robotic Gantry (BRG) systems: Capable of moving in speeds of up to 10 mtr per second, widely used by customers who want to automate loading/unloading processes in their hydraulic/pneumatic presses, CNC machines, etc., thereby reducing the operators and overheads.

The comp any has developed a BRG hydraulic press loading/unloading using travelling at speeds of 3 meters per second for a series of 4 presses. The number of operators has been lowered from 8 to 1 by implementing this system. This system travels to each press (presses open randomly), unload the moulds and open the same for the operator. The operator simply has to remove the rubber component and replace it with raw rubber. The BRG then loads the mould into the press and travels to the next press thereby reducing operator fatigue and increasing productivity by nearly 20%. BASE Mini XYZ Robotic Platform (BMRP): this is a highly accurate (±0.01 mm) 3-axis positioning system. By installing different “heads” this systems can be used for automating a number of industrial processes like: automatic bolt/nut fastening in engine/crankcase assembly by attaching a nut runner; automatic sealant application in automotive assembly by attaching a sealant nozzle; 3D printing by attaching the required hot end extruder; and profile machining in wood using a Bosch hand tool which can be fixed as the head.
