High Speed Centre For Series Production

High Speed II represents a new machine generation which is distinguished by highly dynamic spindle and axis drives. The FZ 18 S magnum, with 36 tool magazine pieces, taper 40 or HSK-A63 as a moving column machine, is designed for both small scale production as well as for work-intensive machining. The travels in X, Y, Z equals 750 x 400 x 425 mm and the large 1,150 x 460 mm fixed table allows compact and heavy fixtures to be mounted. For peripheral machining, the fixed table offers enough space for the mounting of an NC rotary table for 4-axis machining. High productivity is ensured by: the quick tool changer with a tool change time of 1.5 second, chip-to-chip time of 3.2 seconds, high speed traverse or feed rates up to 40 m/min, reached in 0.16 second and the spindle drive which achieves 15,000 RPM in 0.9 second.
