Bangalore-based Ultra Precision Tools & Vessels Pvt Ltd supplies beta bag filters that find applications in hydraulics, lubrication, process industry, and oil and gas industry. These are made of a unique multi-layer polyester felt, encased in spun-bonded nylon to prevent migration of bag material into the fluid stream. They are rated by the multi-pass method of filter performance evaluation. Dirt carrying capacity of these filters is 5 times more than that of the cartridge filter's filtration surface area. Filter bags are fitted into and supported by perforated metal baskets, which avoids filter collapse, flow fatigue and filter end-load problems. Filter bags can be installed and removed from their housings quickly and easily.Beta bag filters are more resistant to the chemical additives and are safe for use with fluid temperatures above 250 deg C. Two-stage filtration is possible in single housing and high viscous fluids up to 60,000 CPS can be filtered effectively. These filter bags cost less than cylindrical filter cartridges and they fold flat enabling compact storage. These filters are made of media, which can be easily cleaned and replaced and migration of the filter media is prevented by the spun nylon cover. These bags are developed in multi-pass tests at 20-gpm flow, with terminal pressure drop of 15 psi.
